Smoking Up || Chant

ches-danforth:

“A swim?” Ches asked, quirking his brow. “I don’t believe I have a pair of trunks. Why not head home and enjoy some tea, yeah?” He grinned, his hand still guiding Grant towards the house. He hoped doing the things they usually did would slowly ease Grant into normality. That at least was what some doctor suggested in some book Ches had read while at the bookstore. To be quite honest though, Ches was beginning not to mind as much, though it was worth a shot. Grant’s next reply was the first sign of some success. “I love you too,” he grinned, happy to hear the words that he hadn’t heard for days. He squeezed Grant’s hand slightly, comforting himself more than the other by doing so. “Now let’s get you home.”

Grant flashed Ches a brilliant smile before giving his hand a squeeze. “Race you there? Just like old times?” He laughed and dropped his hand heading off in a sprint. As his legs moved in wider bounds, Grant couldn’t help but let a laugh escape from between his lips. The way the wind licked his cheeks, the way it pushed his hair back, they all seemed to urge him to run faster. Sneaking a quick glance behind him he saw that Ches wasn’t too far behind. Better speed it up. And with that he froze. He stood stiff in one spot, his mind entirely blank, everything practically gone. And for a split second so did the small grey rabbit. Grant looked around bewildered as to why once again his legs burned the way they did. Gradually the rabbit reappeared and Grant had the sudden desire for a pot of Earl Grey tea. He extended his hand outward and smiled gently, “Care for a cup of tea back home?”
